The Consumerist posted this story on their website today. I have a passionate interest in stories about Microsoft propaganda against Linux and Apple because I just happen to use all three operating systems for my personal use. The Mac OS is by far the most headache free out of the big three. It simply works, and even when things go wrong, the fix is relatively simple. Ubuntu is my favorite distro of Linux. It has been fun watching the Ubuntu OS evolve over the years. I can almost do anything on my Ubuntu rig that I can do on my Windows based PC. The developers of Ubuntu have worked hard to narrow the gap between Linux and Microsoft. Finally there is Microsoft Windows, the biggest fish in the pond. Having been an IT tech for most of my career, Microsoft has helped pay my bills, because most companies use Windows exclusively. On a personal level, I have a love/hate relationship with Microsoft. There are a lot good things that Microsoft does right; however, there are just as many things that they do wrong. I am glad that I decided to stick with XP 64 instead of upgrading to Vista. I may eventually take the plunge and upgrade to Windows 7. However, I won’t be one of those suckers listening to a sales pitch by a Best Buy sales guy.
Here is the Microsoft Propaganda that is brainwashing the Best Buy employees in your area.
Experienced consumers can see right through this phony assumption.
The consumer still end up getting hosed in the end by spending more money on worthless service plans.
This information is true; however, the Apple service has always been optional.
They fail to mention that more choices isn’t always a good thing if you are not informed.
Bar Graphs are kewl
I have to admit that this slide is true. I do play all my pc games on the Windows OS. However, I am going to let you in on a dirty little secret, you can run Windows XP on the Mac. Truth be told, XP is more robust on Apple hardware.
Another bogus assumption
This final assumption is a reach, one of the things that irk with the Microsoft laptop commercials is that the laptops the user selects are usually an overpriced piece of crap. If you did a comparision of the hardware that was selected versus the Apple laptops, common sense would dictate that you get more value from the Apple laptop.
